Man Faces 7 Counts of Child Endangerment

MESA, Ariz. - A Mesa man arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence with seven children has appeared in Maricopa County Court.

A court commissioner ordered 23-year-old Robert Soto Wednesday to post a $3,600 bond before he's released and not drive with anyone younger than 18.

Mesa police arrested Soto Monday on suspicion of aggravated DUI and child endangerment.

Officers pulled Soto over after he drove through an accident scene and blocked traffic on Mesa Drive near Brown Road.

A probable cause statement says the children inside Soto's car were all under the age of 15. Three children were found in the car's trunk.

Court paperwork says a Mesa police officer administered a field sobriety test which Soto failed.

I was watching this on the news while we were in the ER this morning and I just couldn't believe it.

Those poor babies. Sad

heh. Okay...am I the only one who, as an 8th grader, piled into a Toyota Camry with 12 other friends, driven by one of them's 20 year old older brother, who I'm pretty sure was drunk...or at least wished he was after THAT madness, to hitch a ride to the mall?

(Yea, 3 of them were in the trunk- but we made the boys do that...there were at least two people to every lap, 2 people on the floor in the backseat...and 3 people up front in the passenger seat or something- it was wild...)

Probably Hangers. I've ridden in the back of a truck plenty of times before, but when we clown carred to the mall (or wherever) we usually just sat on laps and the floor in the cab of the car.

We were also old enough to decide to do that ourselves. Wink
