| will still be around or talked about when your kids are our age?
I was thinking about this as I sit here watching Dora. Is Dora one of those cartoons that my girls will talk about to their kids and remember fondly?
I know that I remember Seaseme Street (didn't watch it. Don't let my kids watch it.), Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, Smurfs, Tom n Jerry, Bugs Bunny.
The boys watched Barney and Blue's Clues. You can't find them on tv anymore except on Sprouts or on one of the old cartoon networks. The girls wouldn't have any idea what Blue's Clues is.

| It's hard to say... We watch a lot of Blue's Clues, but I had to buy it on disc. They learn a lot from that show. They watch Dora also, and I think that show has some enduring qualities. Spongebob Squarepants will probably be on until the end of time. I'm not even sure how I feel about that. I just know that C will probably watch it until then. | |

| I have the first season of Duck Tales well the first disc anyway from Netflix...they all love it so now I'm thinking of putting the "Disney Afternoon" shows on the queue...
anyway...I think its def gonna be generation gap (?) I think most of us are familiar with saturday morning cartoons and thats why there's a lot of shows we can all relate to...now it's more like sprout vs disney vs nick etc...
is it just me or Warner Bros is not as "active" as they used to be...my kids recognize Mickey Mouse but have no clue about Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, etc...

Especially Speedy and Road Runner. I found some collections for pretty cheap (in the $10 range) at Wal-Mart and picked them up. But, no, I don't see them otherwise.

| We get teletoon retro here, so my kids and I bond over the cartoons of my youth fairly often. We like She-Ra and He-man, Transformers, and Smurfs. As for this generation, forrest is right. There's just TOO much out there for a whole generation to bond over a handful cartoons like we did. Right now Kaleb is into Max and Ruby and Caillou and Sarah loves Danny Phantom and some obscure Dorothy and the wizard of Oz cartoon that looks like it was drawn by the same people as Astro Boy. I heart Netflix. The kids can use it all by themselves. Make my life easier, but they can find some wierd shit to watch lol. | |
