At first, I didn't really understand why the kids like this so much, but I think I get it now.

Yep, they've got 3 series of these on Netflix and my kids would watch it all day long if we let them.
Doesn't do much for WeeMan's vocabulary, though. He walks around the house yelling, "MeeeMeee!" and "NahpNahp" at everyone.

I LOVE Pingu!! It was on public tv here when my kids were little and we didn't have cable. They watched hours of it. Their too old to eat it up on Netflix now, but we watched a bunch a couple of weeks ago, just for kicks.
Let them watch tons of it, so they'll have something to laugh at when their baked in their college dorms in 15 years.

At first, I didn't get it because I didn't really watch it. I thought it was really annoying, but it's surprisingly funny.
I can see how show might make a whole lot more sense if you're baked.

we used to have to time the VCR to record Ren and Stimpy so we could watch back to back episodes on Sunday mornings (the hangover recovery / fill the room with smoke day of the week) and snack our day away . Sunday nights at the club i worked at were Reggae night and we rotated who had that night off (1 week all the girls got night off/ next all the boys) , so if i was working or not on a Sunday night my condition and performance did not make a difference ..i still just turned up at the same place to dance with my workmates and enjoy the end of the "work weekend" in a relaxed state .

I tried to go to work baked once during Colin's college years, when I dealt blackjack at the casino. A casino is a BAD place to go stoned and try to pay attention to what you're doing. All those lights and dinging noises and garish colours. Oh my but I still get overwhelmed thinking of that day, it was crazy.

Wow , yep. we only have one legal casino in our whole state ..and they are very strict ..drug testing etc. Reggae night/Sunday night in a tourist town nightclub (most tourists gone home so club seems to contain only locals , those that work in hospitality so can party late on a Sunday and reggae fans) is about the only time this would have been doable . Although i lived a funny lifestyle in which i was very sober , no drugs (or even dating!) during school term for a while there. I had a good friend or two (with benefits) that looked forward to my school holidays but were reminded that there would be no chance of a relationship once school was back.
