PostA Plea From Your Passenger

Dear Driver (hubby's name will be withheld here):

When you're in the car doing this:

And you're making the car do this:

It leads me to believe that you will soon be doing this:

This is not a comfortable feeling, as I will most likely end up as a(n) witness/accomplice/innocent bystander.

Cease and desist.

Thanks!

OMD Ronin, I don't know whether to laugh at you or cry or that. That's awful in a really funny way. Are your kids with you when you drive?

Laugh. Very Happy It's never gotten to the point of the last picture.

The kids are not normally with us when we drive. He tones it down for them a bit, but I can sometimes hear Caidyn in the back yelling, "Get out of the way! Daddy, that car's in our way...."

I'm pretty sure Colin would be just as bad if he had to drive in a big city regularly. He's bad enough just driving around Saskatoon in good traffic.

I have it pretty bad too. For the first pic I always yell: DO I NEED TO SEND YOU A FUCKING EMAIL?! GOOOOO!!!

For the turning I usually just pass them like a maniac. I also like to verbally reprimand people who don't use their blinker.

But! I bought this relaxation cd that plays Beethoven and Pachelbel over the sounds of the ocean (waves and seagulls) and it has been helping me stay a little bit calmer in the car. Although I still have the occasional outburst. angry

I am probably the person everyone's yelling at. I have no sense road rage at all, but I KNOW that I"m an extremely unobservant person with poor hand-eye co-ordination and a lack of awareness of the space around me, so when I drive I'm very overly cautious and follow the rules of the road to the letter to compensate for my short comings. I freak out driving in any place bigger than my little town. When we went to edmonton I drove ONCE and I was literally in tears by the end of it I was so scared by all the traffic and cars screaming past me this way and that, nobody following the rules as posted, no idea what anyone was planning on doing next. The idea of driving in a city again is a MAJOR factor in my desire to never move anywhere bigger.

Poor Kapi! Very Happy I am not quite that nervous of a driver, but I am also a more comfortable passenger. I will pretty much refuse to drive anywhere I've never been to before. Maybe if I have a very detailed map, I'll attempt it, otherwise no. scared
